We're starting off our recipe-sharing series with a beloved classic: Chocolate Chip Cookies!
Cookies are something that you'll be able to find in the Cozy Cafe bakery case daily. This recipe is a basic staple for any home bak er, and can be easily modified for different occasions. Be creative and change your mix-ins! We added pastel M&M's for some cheerful spring flair!
Classic Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe (yields about 2 dozen cookies)
Ingredients:
1 bag chocolate chips (11-12 oz)
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 cup butter/shortening
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Optional: 8 oz mix ins (M&M's, peanut butter chips, etc.)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Mix dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, salt).
Cream butter and sugars in a large mixing bowl.
Add eggs and vanilla to butter/sugar mixture.
Gradually add in dry ingredient mixture.
Gradually add in chocolate chips and/or mix ins.
Use a tablespoon to drop balls of dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 10 minutes, or until golden brown.
