We previously posted about the importance of supporting local restaurants in the age of social distancing. Today we're turning our attention to local artists!
Many independent artists rely on large social gatherings and events (anime conventions, renaissance fairs, trade shows, etc.) as major sources of income. With large gatherings and events being closed due to coronavirus concerns, many artists are facing anxiety and uncertainty.
We at Cozy Cafe are working with local artists to provide retail space and advertising when our shop opens this summer. But since our grand opening is still weeks away, we are looking for ways to help in the meantime!
One major way we can all support our local artists is through independent websites and Etsy. Without physical events, many artists are selling their wares online. Follow your artists on social media (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) to learn about sales and specials. Let your artists know you are still an invested supporter and customer, and buy when you can!
