As the world begins to move forward and businesses begin to slowly reopen, business owners are taking a serious look at how day-to-day operations will change. The Cozy Cafe Crew has had many discussions regarding this, we would like to share some thoughts!
First of all, seeing face masks in a day to day environment will become a very common sight. Countries such as South Korea and Japan are years ahead of us on this trend, and have been doing this for year! You can expect to see cafe employees wearing gloves and face coverings at all times, as well as signs reminding customers to follow proper mask etiquette (wearing your mask while standing in line, any time you are in close proximity with other customers, etc.).
You can also expect to see custom masks for sale in our shop area. Local artisans are already ahead of the curve on this matter, and have been working for weeks to craft face masks for their communities. You will see masks in different patterns and designs at our shop; after all, if a mask is something that is going to be incorporated into your daily routine, it might as well be stylish and fun!
Second, as social distancing continues, we are committed to maintaining safe distance between tables and seating areas. Cozy Cafe will also have plenty of covered outdoor seating, which some customers will feel more comfortable utilizing. Additionally, we will have hand sanitizer at every table, and on a visit to our cafe you will certainly see employees actively and frequently sanitizing surfaces in the building.
We are currently working with health professionals to determine when and how we will be able to safely operate our in-house reading and game libraries while maintaining sanitation guidelines.
Finally, we are working on our order ahead/pickup service, allowing customers to order in advance and utilize curbside pickup or a separate counter area. This would significantly decrease the need to stand in a crowded line in our shop, and would help customers feel safe picking up their beverages and snacks in a limited-contact way.
